Boy Scout Troop 21
Meet Will Freeborn, Troop 21's newest senior patrol leader!
About Will,
Will participates in three varsity sports at Wauwatosa West High School, including football, wrestling, and track. As a senior patrol leader, Will hopes to "increase leadership opportunities, cultivate an environment more attractive to Cub Scouts, and make it more rewarding to be an active scout in the troop."
Will's favorite things about Troop 21:
1. Summer Camp at Jag Lake
2. His time spent as a troop guide
3. His friends that he has made as a scout.
Why Will ran for SPL:
1. He hopes that the position will help him stay on track to Eagle.
2. Become more active in the troop.
3. Increase new scout retention rates.
From July 14th to the 20th, Troop 21 attended another year of summer camp at Jag Lake, in Boulder Junction WI! 5 patrols worth of scouts were in attendance, with the “Numb Skulls” patrol being the crowned honor point winner after an extremely successful performance in the troop games on the last Friday of camp.
This year's theme was “family game night” and throughout the week scouts competed in various games such as Sorry, Cribbage, Yahtzee, and a 4-day-long game of Clue. A favorite event of both scouts and adults alike was a trivia night around the fire ring hoasted by Scoutmaster Evenson that featured topics such as video games, the 80s, famous people, and geography. While the adult teams took first and second place, the only patrol to make it into the top 3 was the “Rusty Nails” patrol, which earned 150 patrol points in the process.
